New round of applications open for small grant scheme that could save you thousands
The Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme Round 2 has now opened for submissions, giving businesses working in the rural industries a chance to make big savings. But you’ll need to hurry – applications are only open until 3 September.
Who can apply?
Farmers (including livestock, dairy, arable and horticultural sector) are eligible to apply for the grant.
How much money can you apply for?
Grants can cover up to 40 per cent of the eligible costs in your application, from a minimum of £3,000, up to a maximum of £12,000.
If you received funding in Round 1, you can apply for Round 2 as long as the total value of both applications combined does not exceed £12,000.
What items can you apply for?
There is an extensive list of items you can claim funds in respect of but have all been identified as helping to achieve improvements in: technical efficiency, animal welfare, resource efficiency, or nutrient management.
The Government has added 26 additional items to the list of available equipment for Round 2.
How do I apply?
Farmers should apply for a grant through the usual Government Gateway channels. You’ll need to complete an online application form and detail some important details about your business, such as number of employees and what type of activities you carry out.
To stand the best chance of being accepted, have an accounting and grants professional complete the form on your behalf.
